Brand: Jay's Catering
Role: Staff Writer/Junior Copywriter

Jay's was my first real copywriting gig! I dove in head first and was lucky enough to work with a fun group of innovators. The company is an Orange County staple, but the marketing crew was lean and creative. While I was hired primarily to blog for Jay's, I got to try lots of ideas and wrote everything from press releases to website content to menus and corporate bios.

What I'm most proud of: Telling the Jay's story in the book I wrote for them. The family still owns and runs the company, so I got to interview lots of people and analyze their growth over 50 years. It was a challenging but crucial project for my skill development.
I also attended dozens of swanky events catered by Jay's and wrote about them, in addition to write-ups on venues they won contracts at (yes, I wrote the proposals for those contracts, too). Proud of the diversity of work, proud of the depth of influence I had on the brand.
